Abt has thus endowed the car with new powers going up to 228kW (310 PS /306 hp). It is now capable of going from 0 – 100km/h in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 261km/h (162 mph).

B&B Gives VW Golf R 362hp

Posted by admin

B&B has unveiled a new tuning program for the Volkswagen Golf R.

Available in three different configurations, the Golf R can be modified to produce 310, 324 and 362 PS. While details are limited, the range-topping model features a larger turbocharger, a sports exhaust system (with a larger downpipe and a racing catalyst), revised engine electrics, a new air intake, an optimized intercooler, and a Slim-Line oil cooler. Thanks to these tweaks, the 362 PS B&B Golf R can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and top out at more than 280 km/h (174 mph).

To make the most of the added power, B&B installed an adjustable coilover suspension (with sport springs that reduce the ride height by 30mm) and a high performance braking system.

While the company normally outfits their cars with Caractere body kits, B&B stated the only styling change will be the addition of exclusive 19 and 20-inch wheels.

VW Golf VI GTI RZR by RevoZport

Posted by admin

Hong Kong tuners RevoZport have released a new aerokit for one of the favorite cars of VW fans.  The Golf VI GTI RZR includes a full package of modifications without changing the car’s overall appeal.

In addition to the body changes, the company’s custom engine mapping bumps up power by 70-horsepower to 270.  Because of the changes to the engine and exhaust, one of the mods is a new vented carbon-kevlar bonnet, which weighs in at an ultralight 4kg.

The company’s mods change the face of the car by adding a new front bumper, adjustable splitter, and LED lighting.  Fender flares fit to the stock sidesills.  A new rear bumper, with adjustable diffuser, is also available, as are carbon mirror caps and carbon rear spoiler.  When not using carbon fiber, RevoZport engineers used Pultrudeed Fiber Reinforced Plastic, all helping to save weight.

The Golf VI GTi RZR tuning package is currently available for order, and will appear in shops from February.

Abt Golf VI GTD Tuning Program Announced

Posted by admin

Abt Golf VI GTD Tuning (6)

ABT Sportsline has released details of its new Golf GTD. The car is based on the new Golf TDI with a 103kW (140hp) 2.0 TDI engine, but the more powerful factory GTD makes 125kW (170hp). ABT engineers have improved both power and torque to give it 140kW (190hp) and maximum torque of 390Nm. Zero to 100km/h is reached in 7.1 seconds and top speed is 230km/h. Driving the front wheels is a 7-speed DSG transmission. Fuel consumption figures were not provided but ABT says its car remains fuel efficient with low C02 emissions.

Exterior modifications include a new front grille, front skirt, side skirts, a rear skirt, a rear wing and a four-pipe rear muffler. The wheels and tyres can be selected in either 18-inch or 19-inch sizes. The suspension can be lowered by 30mm for improved handling and performance. It does not do the overall looks any harm either.

Because of these enhancements ABT – the biggest tuner of Volkswagen/ Audi vehicles – changed the GTD abbreviation to stand for “Gewinner Tanken Diesel” or “Winners tank diesel” instead of the official Gran Touring Diesel.

Sportec SC 200 based on VW Golf VI 1.4 TSI

Posted by admin

Sportec SC 200 VW Golf VI 1.4 TSI (7)

The Volkswagen Golf has always been one of the most tuned cars ever. Fans and owners are often quite keen to extract more power from their Golfs than is available to them off the factory floor. In recognising this Swiss-based Sportec has created the Sportec SC 200 which is based on the Golf 1.4 TSI.

At its peak the Golf currently makes 118kW (160hp) and 240Nm. The SC 200, through electronic manipulation, has increased these figures to 147kW (200hp) – the same as the Golf V GTI – and 300Nm respectively. All the pulling power is available between 1,800rpm and 3,000rpm. Superplus fuel which is rich in octane is now required to run this modified Golf.

From 0 – 100km/h the SC 200 will take 8.2 seconds which is 1.4 seconds quicker than the standard vehicle.

A raspier exhaust note is ensured by the Sportec sports exhaust system and the tuner recommends that buyers also opt for the sport suspension and the sports braking system.

Golf VI GTI performance upgrades by MR Car Design

Posted by admin

MR Car Design Golf VI GTI

MR Car Design is a tuner based in Erftstadt which is a town 20km east of Cologne in Germany. On top of being an exhaust specialist they have also tuned a number of cars for customers and are now turning their attention to the Golf VI GTI. Equipped with a €1,529 KW-thread-sport suspension the car now sits 50mm lower and the front and 40mm lower at the rear.

Oxigin 14 wheels with sizes 8.5×19 and 9.5×19 are fitted. They roll on 225/35-19 tyres. MR Car Design also took care of stopping power by using a €2,999 Stoptech high performance brake system with 4-piston calipers and slotted brake discs as well as a brake caliper air vent plug. A custom sport exhaust system is fitted. Optionally buyers can get a downpipe with a sport catalytic converter.

The engine has been optimised by using MRCD software which comes at a cost of €949. Peak power goes from 155kW (211hp) up to 191kW (260hp). At the same time torque shows a greater improvement from 280Nm to 380Nm. Thanks in no small part to the GTI’s XDS traction system the FWD car goes from 0 – 100m/h in 5.8 seconds and achieves a 263km/h (163mph) top speed. The tuner reckons it is quite a drivable car even on an everyday basis and it returns a good average fuel consumption figure.
