PPI Razor GTR to Debut at Essen Motor Show 2008

Posted by admin

Specialist Audi tuners PPI Automotive Design have twinkled their fingers and, shazam, delivered this supercar which is supposed to be an R8 underneath it all.

Their little magic act delivers 580 hp (at 7,400 rpm) and a windmill-esque torque of 600 Nm. Couple that with a diet that takes 250 kg off the 1,580 kg curb-weight of the production R8 and you can see where this is all headed.

The PPI RAZOR GTR goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Speed tops out at 332 km/h.

Special carbon fiber body panels, including side skirts and a rear wing, and PPI wheels cast from lightweight materials provide for the decrease in weight and improved aerodynamics with a wider body skin.

Superior handling comes from the 10Jx19 MAG11 wheels fitted with 255/35 ZR 19 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires at the front, and 11.5J x 20 MAG11’s on 325/25 ZR 20 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 at the back. A high-performance braking system is added with 6-piston callipers and extra large discs.

The PPI is a full-on tuner and does the interior as well with Onyx Nubuck leather and carbon fiber materials to refashion the cabin in a “sport identity” and lighten the car too.

See press release for full details.

The PPI Razor GTR will debut at the Essen Motor Show which runs from the 29th of November to the 7th of December. Read the rest of this entry »

Rumors: Nissan GT-R Spec-V Release Date and Price

Posted by admin

Breaking news! Nissan GT-R Spec-V has been priced. Or at least better “guesstimated”. Earlier consensus had been that GT-R Spec-V’s release date would be delayed for various reasons, including the current world economic downturn. Good news is that it hasn’t. Bad news is the initially speculated price has gone up in real terms.

From a 13,000,000 Yen prediction to what is now 15, 000, 000 Yen (about USD 154,000 today or 122,500 Euros), the Spec-V is not exactly el cheapo. We certainly don’t expect it to be, but hell, a little bit of affordability would be welcome. The car is expected at NISMO 2008 Festival in a couple of weeks, so a live visual will make our palms even sweatier. First deliveries will happen in February 2009 after an “official” release date of January.

The GT-R Spec-V will sport more power, less weight, more carbon fiber, more performance as the road-legal track version of GT-R. Read the rest of this entry »

TETSU GTR by ASI Debuts at SEMA

Posted by admin

Bentley may have been on a fast rise up the sales scales in the past four years or so, due to new vibrant models like the Continental GT, but even they would probably not approve of this TETSU GTR from ASI. Which is probably the exact point of it all; taking something as regal as a Bentley GT and turning it into an art piece that conformists couldn’t point at with a laptop mouse.

Already sweating buckets of turbo power as a normal manufacturer car, the GT that ASI made is one of some considerable strength, mostly found from enlarged turbo turbines, ECU tuning, a more efficient exhaust system and improved cooling methods. Because of these changes the TETSU GTR is able to allow for a comprehensive 800 bhp to escape onto the tarmac.

SEMA is of course more than just a power fest, it’s also about eye candy. So the GTR has received special attention from artist Tetsuei Nakamura whose works include luxury hotels. The car seats and its floor mats are fashioned in the Nishijin weaving legacy, the exterior finished in two-tone carbon fiber, Fujiyama matte white colour scheme.

LED lights give the appearance of the modern-day sports car fad, with that 2070mm-wide body making the car look like it’s squatting, waiting to pounce. The 22-inch black forged wheels finish this look.

Wald Shows their Nissan GT-R Kit Chops

Posted by admin

Wald International has fired a barrage of new body kit packages recently, such as the E90 3-Series, BMW M5 and Mercedes C-Class. And now their latest release, is possibly one of their most important. Wald, in our humble opinion, can be hot and cold with their designs, but it seems they’ve got a winner with their GT-R Sports Line kit.

Perhaps not as radical as the purpose built GT-R GT500 race car for the Japanese Super GT race series, but Wald’s initial design, which is still in development, shows a menacing track-prepped look particularly with the rear wheel arch flairs, rivet clips included. Also in the kit are front bumper fascia, lower rear bumper fascia with integrated diffuser, side skirts, upper rear wing extension and lower lip spoiler on the deck lid - both in carbon fiber.

The front and rear bumper fascias at first glance appear over-styled with excessive air ducts and prominent non-functional rear diffuser, but still somehow manage to compliment the GT-R with just enough restraint without going too far.

Bentley Continental GT Based Tetsu GTR

Posted by admin

On this Bentley Continental GT based Tetsu GTR from ASI is original Japanese artwork by Nakamura Tetsuei, we do find it kinda weird to dress you car’s hood with flowers. Especially if someone finds out that you paid something north of $800,000 or 520,000 which is the starting price for every one of the 29 Tetsu GTRs that the Japanese tuning firm will produce. Artwork aside, ASI’s Tetsu GTR features an aggressively styled wide-bodykit (+1,800 mm) that includes dry carbon bonnet, trunk and rear wing spoiler along with several mechanical upgrades the most important being the modified 6.0L W12 engine that now produces 800 Hp.

Zele / Harrison GT-R - Updated Parts Catalog

Posted by admin

The orange GT-R from Zele (Harrison) is world famous thanks to the orange color. Still prefer a more “everyday” color but it’s a great color! I don’t write about all the GT-R’s because it would be a day time job!

COBB R35 GT-R Coil Over Conversion Kit

Posted by admin

For a very acceptable lower cost solution thats very capable and versatile check out the solution from COBB. i think this is simular to the AMUSE solution, but this is brand new, CNC machined and Created by COBB themselfs. Much development went into creating these for the GT-R R35.

Best of all you can use these in confort mode and race mode and still retain a decent ride.

COBB is developing these with ALOT of testing in mind. They are doing much more testing than Amuse ever did with many differnt tire types from street to R compound tires and they are testing them with many differnt spring rates to see the best for each (best meaning fastest lap times and there recomendations for comfort). You will be able to remove the system if need be.
