LSD Wing Doors for Nissan GT-R

Posted by admin

lsd-wing-doors-for-nissan-gt-r-1

LSD Design released information on their new wing doors for the Nissan GT-R. The creatively named LSD Flügeltürbeschläge, which is not actually a good choice for a “safe word” with your dominatrix, is one more step in the quest by aftermarket parts makers to customize every Nissan GT-R that comes off the line.

We kid, of course. “Flügeltürbeschläge” loosely translates from German as a more multisyllabic way of saying “fitted wing door.” For €1949, you get the accessory with roller guides, to guarantee precision every time the door is opened or closed. The guides are also adjustable, to ensure the best fit possible. Also nice is that the doors can bolt on pretty easily, “without welding and paint work,” according to the design firm.

These wings are much easier to use than they are to pronounce, since the company used the original mounting points that Nissan used. When getting out, simply open the door slightly outward, and let it go up in the air. Closing the doors is done in one fluid motion.

The wings are now commercially available. Sadly, you will probably not be able to score a license plate that says “Flügeltürbeschläge”.

Nissan GT-R by Shadow Sports Design

Posted by admin

shadow-sports-design-nissan-gt-r-r35_4

Shadow Sports Design has given access to details regarding its Nissan GT-R conversion. The car has been given a number of new parts to enhance its performance. A carbon fiber rear spoiler is fitted and elevated to improve downforce. There is a rear air diffuser installed as well for the same purpose.

The 20-inch wheels are made of forged magnesium for both strength and lightness of weight. These were developed in conjunction with Enkei and each of the front wheels saves the car 2.05kg in unsprung weight. They are available in either black or a gunmetal finish. As a way of helping to cool the front brake calipers the front underspoiler has carbon ducts that lead directly to these brakes.

Titanium was the material picked when it came to manufacturing the exhaust pipe mufflers. The Shadow Sports Design GT-R has a pair of racing seats fitted with a harness. No performance figures have been released yet but it’s been said that the carbon-clad official GT-R Spec V is two seconds faster around the Sendai Highland Raceway track in Japan than the standard car.

South Side Performance GT-R Turbo Kit gives 820hp

Posted by admin

gtr820rr-turbo-upgrade-kit

American tuner South Side Performance has created a turbo kit capable of boosting the Nissan GT-R up to 820 horsepower. The upgrade is made to fit on Nissan’s stock parts facilitating quality of installation.

If true, this could bring the 0-60mph time down from 3.2 seconds to somewhere between the Bugatti Veyron and the Hennessey Venom 800TT (2.9 s and 2.4 s).

South Side Performance uses Garrett ball bearing water cooled turbo chargers, an upgraded actuator, high pressure aluminum compressor wheel, and new turbine wheel. The company claims their choice in turbo is because of the large amount of power Garrett turbos produce, even at low RPMs. Thus, these new turbos deliver a healthy amount of additional horsepower from the moment you hit the accelerator, on up to the red line.

Anybody looking to race for pink slips and evade police chases would want to get the South Side Performance GTR820RR Turbo Upgrade Kit. Anybody else might find that kind of power to be unnecessary. When exchanging the GT-R stock turbo, the price of this kit comes to $6,499. Installation takes about a week.

Wald Tuned Nissan GT-R Unveiled at 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon

Posted by admin

nissan-gt-r-r35-sport-line-by-wald-international_6

Wald International has officially introduced their new body package for the Nissan GT-R.  The Japanese tuner has not released any engine modifications, citing the “difficulty in tuning the GT-R’s engine.”

The company has created several carbon-fibre body parts to lighten the vehicle’s weight and make the car more aerodynamic.  They custom built a front-lip spoiler and nose cover, and rear wing.  Low-drag duct covers from another lightweight composite material are in place, while under the hood the cutomer will find a carbon-fibre engine cover.

Wald’s aero-kit comes in the glossy finish typically used for street cars, called wet carbon fibre, or a dull matte grey color, called dry carbon fibre.  The second choice is usually used on racers.  A wet carbon kit starts at 1,039,500 yen ($11,620), with the dry carbon kit going for about 2,362,500 ($26,410).  Prices include taxes.

Zele GT-R Complete Edition details released

Posted by admin

Japanese tuners Zele International have released details of their modified 2009 Nissan GT-R called the Zele R35 GT-R Complete Edition. The carbon fibre menace has been tweeked out with an aero kit, bumpers, front and rear spoilers, and side skirts. The air ducts, grille, and side mirrors have also been revisited. Carbon fibre is also used for a roof.

Unveiled today at the 2009 Tokyo AutoSalon, the production car is based on a prototype shown off at SEMA last year. Using carbon fibre for the body and titanium for the exhaust, the tuner has shaved weight from the car in almost every conceivable place.

But front and center is the engine tuning, which sees output increase to 550hp. Inside, Recaro seats covered in Alcantara have replaced the stock seats. The car itself sits on new 20-inch black alloys, which contain a large set of brake pads. An upgraded suspension is also included.

And if you do not want the bright orange colour choice, Zele says that is no problem. The company offers to create and mix any metallic or pearl colour their customers desire.

Only eight Zele R35 GT-R Complete Edition vehicles will be released. Pricing begins at 18,880,000 yen ($208,000). This is 3,130,000 yen ($34,500) more expensive than Nissan’s GT-R SpecV. Delivery of the Zele R35 will begin in March.

Rumors: Nissan GT-R Spec-V Release Date and Price

Posted by admin

Breaking news! Nissan GT-R Spec-V has been priced. Or at least better “guesstimated”. Earlier consensus had been that GT-R Spec-V’s release date would be delayed for various reasons, including the current world economic downturn. Good news is that it hasn’t. Bad news is the initially speculated price has gone up in real terms.

From a 13,000,000 Yen prediction to what is now 15, 000, 000 Yen (about USD 154,000 today or 122,500 Euros), the Spec-V is not exactly el cheapo. We certainly don’t expect it to be, but hell, a little bit of affordability would be welcome. The car is expected at NISMO 2008 Festival in a couple of weeks, so a live visual will make our palms even sweatier. First deliveries will happen in February 2009 after an “official” release date of January.

The GT-R Spec-V will sport more power, less weight, more carbon fiber, more performance as the road-legal track version of GT-R. Read the rest of this entry and check out more photos »

Wald Shows their Nissan GT-R Kit Chops

Posted by admin

Wald International has fired a barrage of new body kit packages recently, such as the E90 3-Series, BMW M5 and Mercedes C-Class. And now their latest release, is possibly one of their most important. Wald, in our humble opinion, can be hot and cold with their designs, but it seems they’ve got a winner with their GT-R Sports Line kit.

Perhaps not as radical as the purpose built GT-R GT500 race car for the Japanese Super GT race series, but Wald’s initial design, which is still in development, shows a menacing track-prepped look particularly with the rear wheel arch flairs, rivet clips included. Also in the kit are front bumper fascia, lower rear bumper fascia with integrated diffuser, side skirts, upper rear wing extension and lower lip spoiler on the deck lid – both in carbon fiber.

The front and rear bumper fascias at first glance appear over-styled with excessive air ducts and prominent non-functional rear diffuser, but still somehow manage to compliment the GT-R with just enough restraint without going too far.

Zele / Harrison GT-R – Updated Parts Catalog

The orange GT-R from Zele (Harrison) is world famous thanks to the orange color. Still prefer a more “everyday” color but it’s a great color! I don’t write about all the GT-R’s because it would be a day time job!

COBB R35 GT-R Coil Over Conversion Kit

Posted by admin

For a very acceptable lower cost solution thats very capable and versatile check out the solution from COBB. i think this is simular to the AMUSE solution, but this is brand new, CNC machined and Created by COBB themselfs. Much development went into creating these for the GT-R R35.

Best of all you can use these in confort mode and race mode and still retain a decent ride.

COBB is developing these with ALOT of testing in mind. They are doing much more testing than Amuse ever did with many differnt tire types from street to R compound tires and they are testing them with many differnt spring rates to see the best for each (best meaning fastest lap times and there recomendations for comfort). You will be able to remove the system if need be.
