Gemballa MIG-U1 based Ferrari Enzo Revealed

Posted by admin

gemballa-mig-u1-based-ferrari-enzo-revealed (1)

German tuners Gemballa, known for their work with Porsche cars, may have taken a stab at the Ferrari Enzo.  The Gemballa MIG-U1 is either a limited edition or a privately-commissioned one-off model that missed its planned debut at the Dubai Motor Show.

News of the car comes from the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group, a company that runs several automotive businesses from their offices in Dubai.  They claim the car has a completely new exhaust, and not just new tailpipes.  The car boasts a unique rear bumper and wing, new side sills, and a front bumper.  It appears the car has LED daytime lights as well.

It just wouldn’t be a Gemballa without the roof-mounted air intake.  Interior mods include quilted upholstery, dual-tone floor mats, and a video screen.

We hope to find out more about this car’s performance specs in the next few days.  No word yet if the Gemballa MIG-U1 will appear at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

NOVITEC ROSSO Edizione 747

NOVITEC ROSSO Edizione 747 (24)

Novitec Rosso’s Edizione 747 is a farewell tribute to the outgoing Ferrari 430 Scuderia. For the specialist Ferrari tuner, this project could not have been particularly taxing on its engineering prowess.

The V8 engine has been boosted by the arrival of a bi-compressor which takes power up from the standard 375kW (510hp) up to a whopping 549kW (747hp), hence the name. Torque has also been increased to a towering 738Nm at 6,300rpm. The stats are shocking: 0 – 100km/h sprint takes less than 3.4 seconds, 0 – 200km/h goes by in 9.4 seconds and the 0 – 300km/h takes place in 22.9 seconds. Top velocity is stated at 351km/h.

The engine is fitted with an intercooling system that features its own dedicated water circuit and is given a maximum boost pressure figure of 0.53 bar.

Novitec Rosso tried out a two-tone special matte yellow and grey paintjob (which can be matched to the interior on request) then installed black taillights, side markers and indicators. The wheels are size 8.5Jx20 at the front and 12Jx20 at the back. Matching Michelin Pilot Cup sport tyres measure 245/30 ZR 20 and 315/25 ZR 20 respectively. The front suspension can be lifted by 40mm for easy parking access.

The interior features a flat-bottomed leather and carbon fibre steering wheel and carbon fibre shift paddles.

Edo Competition has released a new performance package for the Ferrari Enzo.

Dubbed the XX, the package features a full engine makeover that includes new steel cylinders, pistons, camshafts, valve springs, and Titan connecting rods. The company also adds new oil cooling piston pipes, new exhaust manifolds, a sport air filter, an air-ram system, a high performance clutch, and a new oil pump.

Edo also equips the XX with a carbon-ceramic braking system, a carbon-fiber air intake, a new fuel cooling system, and black racing wheels with Michelin high performance tires. INDEN-Design tunes Ferrari 430 Spider

Posted by admin

INDEN-Design Ferrari 430 Spider (7)

German tuner INDEN-Design does a little number called the F430.

The Haiger, Germany-based tuner starts off with a modified front spoiler, and not just for looks, as its there to help the INDEN-Design F430 achieve a top speed greater than 300 km/h (186mph). The aerodynamic kit also includes “muscular” side flaps, a rear carbon diffuser and spoiler which explains the composition in the photos with the F430 standing idly next to an airplane.

Performance enhancement comes by way of a lowered suspension, a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with damper control and some engine electronics trickery which deliver a modest rise in power of 35 hp.

The wide track of the F430 is covered by new, lightweight 20-inch wheels with 235/30 R20 tires at the front and 325/25 R20 at the rear.

INDEN-Design also provides some extra luxury and comfort for the cabin. A conjunction of carbon paneling and leather finish, with a variety of color combinations to choose from, help redefine the interior and cockpit. The original leather stitching is extensive, also covering the dashboard, steering wheel and center console.

Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M by Novitec Rosso Packs 696hp

Posted by admin

Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M by Novitec (16)

NOVITEC ROSSO has taken a F430 Scuderia Spider 16M by the scruff of the neck and seemingly came out on top. Admittedly the tuner already had plenty to work with from the start. The basis is a normally aspirated 4.3-litre V8 producing 510hp (375kW) and peak torque of 470Nm. Its redline limit is set at 8,640rpm.

The NOVITEC ROSSO solution uses not one but two cogged-belt-driven high-performance superchargers with a maximum boost of 0.48 bar. Components added to assist the package include high-performance air filters, bigger injectors, larger cooling circuits for the water and oil, and dedicated cooling circuits for both compressors and the intercoolers. Its mate is an F1-SuperFast2 transmission.

All that remains is the release of 696 horses (512kW) into the stratosphere. Maximum pulling power is a stupendous 682Nm of torque made at 6,300rpm. The performance figures are just as impressive; 0 – 100km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0 – 200km/h in 9.7 seconds and 0 – 300km/h in 23.8 seconds. The top end reaches over 330km/h.

The custom-tailored high-performance Pirelli tyres come in size 235/30 ZR 20 at the front and 325/25 ZR 20 at the rear. Sportier springs have been fitted to lower the centre of gravity and improve handling while a hydraulic lift system is installed at the front end to lift the car by up to 40mm to help it negotiate obstacles like speed bumps and curbs.

NOVITEC ROSSO has put a price tag of €47,000 (USD66,000) on the tuning package. For that buyers get fantastic performance as well as an individualisation programme that should give each customer a supercar unlike any other on the road.

Ferrari F430 Calavera by Unique Sportscars & Novitec Rosso

Posted by admin

ferrari-f430-calavera-by-unique-sportscars-novitec-rosso-1

Unique Sportscars and Novitec Rosso have teamed up to create a limited production run of 11 specially designed Ferrari F430s.

Dubbed the Calavera, the unique supercars are based on Novitec Rosso’s Ferrari F430 Race and feature an airbrushed exterior by artist Knud Tiroch. As one would expect, the exterior prominently boasts a large skull on the hood (Calavera is Spanish for skull), darkened taillights, tinted windows, and 20-inch wheels. The interior also gets a modest makeover with embroidered seats, an elongated center console, and iPod connectivity.

Like the F430 Race, the Calavera is powered by a twin-supercharged version of Ferrari’s 4.3-liter V8 engine which produces 707 horsepower and 712 Nm of torque. Thanks to Novitec Rosso’s superchargers, the F430 Calavera rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 348 km/h (216 mph). Other performance goodies include a Novitec Rosso front spoiler and rear wing, revised gear ratios, and a lowered sports suspension.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Posts 7m 40s Time on Nurburgring

Posted by admin

2010-porsche-911-gt3

A new season of ‘Ring wars may be brewing. Porsche’s Project Manager for High Performance Cars Andreas Preuninger says the latest 911 GT3 has achieved a time of 7 minutes 40 seconds around the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife.

Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl, who was piloting the car, was apparently slowed down by the presence of other vehicles on the track. Had Rohrl really been going for it “with a knife between his teeth” said Preuninger, his time would have come down by as much as two seconds. Furthermore Rohrl apparently did a 7 minute 45 seconds in a borrowed Ferrari F430 Scuderia. The time was achieved under the same conditions as the GT3.

As for the Nissan GT-R, Preuninger noted that Porsche’s official line is that the 7 minute 54 second time it achieved with a US-spec unit in 2008 stands. Nissan said in May 2008 that the GT-R did a 7 minute 29.03 seconds at the German track in the hands of its chief test driver Tochio Suzuki. The updated 2010 GT-R is claimed to have done an even quicker time of 7 minutes 27.56 seconds.

The third member of this feuding trio is the Corvette ZR1 which has a posted time of 7 minutes 26.4 seconds at the Green Hell. Preuninger’s remarks on the ‘Vette were only to say it’s a cool car but it serves a different purpose than the GT3.

The new updated GT3 was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Its normally aspirated 3.8-litre boxer engine produces 435hp (320kW) and peak torque of 317 ft-lbs (430Nm).

Novitec Rosso Reveals New TuLesto Supercar to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Posted by admin

novitec-rosso-reveals-new-tulesto-supercar-to-celebrate-20th-anniversary-5

The Novitec TuLesto hopes to be a supercar that’s a little more subtle than some of those Frankensteinian monsters made up of a few muscle parts stapled together. Afterall, Novitec is a Ferrari tuner and is celebrating its 20th anniversary with this car. Oddly enough, though, in the press release on the TuLesto, Novitec doesn’t say if or how much Ferrari content is in this thing. So we will have to wait for more details on that before we draw any conclusions.

What we do know is that the TuLesto was designed with the help of Luca Serafini Stile, a design studio in Modena, Italy, and is built at Novitec’s plant in Stetten, Germany in the province of Bavaria. It is a two-seater with a rear-mounted engine and…well, it looks a lot like a Ferrari.

The engine is a 4.4 liter V8 with twin superchargers with an output of 777 hp (at 8,200 rpm) and 727 Nm of torque (6,300 rpm) coupled to a 6-speed, semi-automatic gearbox featuring an anti-slip differential. Weighing in at a mere 1,260 kg, it sports a whopping 1.62 kg/hp weight to power ratio. 0 to 100 km/h is 3.4 seconds and in 22.6 seconds the TuLesto is already humming along at 300 km/h (186 mph), still a jogger’s pace for a car with a top speed of more than 350 km/h (217 mph).

A first-rate suspension with double-wishbones front and rear and adjustable damping rates is guaranteed to make the ride tight and smooth. And if you need to clear a speed bump without holding your breath, one need only push a button to raise the car by 4 cm.

Aside from the use of carbon fiber, aluminum and the ultra-light alloy 20 or 21-inch wheels to keep weight down, the inside of the cabin also features a carbon fiber finish on the dash, door paneling and central console.

Want one? Well, they’re only making 11 of them for “long-time customers,” so have a look here…and that’s it.
