JMS Racelook for the New Audi A5 Coupe

Posted by admin

German tuning firm JMS has taken a more discreet approach with their Audi A5 tuning kit compared to their recent Audi A3 Sportback. The new Audi coupe starts with the JMS Racelook body kit which includes a front bumper lip spoiler (Euro 269) which sits only 3cm closer to the ground, side skirts (299 Euro) and rear apron (Euro 259) with diffuser look that is a perfect fit with the standard bumper fascia. For the S5 look JMS has also created a stainless steel exhaust system with 4 oval tips which JMS says provides a little more horsepower and torque. JMS is planning to make available the same Racelook kit for all S5 and S-line models.

For the chassis JMS has added H&R lowering springs (EUR 239) which drop the front end by 40mm and the rear by 35mm. The springs are compatible with the standard Audi shock absorbers. In the footwear department JMS has fitted 3-piece racing wheels 9.5×20 and 10×20 with 255/30R20 Dunlop tires (Euro 5699).

Kicherer Mercedes CL 65 Coupe with 650hp

Posted by admin

Kicherer has realised the value of absolute power by putting in some outstanding work into a Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG. The car is Benz’s finest work as far as the coupe body type is concerned, already sporting a nice 612 hp/ 450kW V12 of two turbos and 1000Nm. Kicherer was never going to be satisfied as any power-hungry world car fan would know, and so decided to up the game a little. Later on that.

For the exterior they chose a few changes, headlined by 9 and 10 x 20″ Kicherer RS-X lightweight wheels, carbon fiber mirror shells, rear diffuser, front grille and front apron whose deflector is also of the black light stuff. The exhaust system is a mirror-finished affair with four tailpipes, and supposedly makes the most glorious of sounds.

Inside as expected the CL 65 receives velvet glove treatment, from the alcantara ceiling, carbon intarsia, to the nappa leather seats, and handmade hand-worked shag pile carpet for the back. And now for the numbers you want. Kicherer has managed to squeeze out 38 more stallions out of the engine to give it a well-rounded 650 hp/ 486kW and oak-pulling 1200Nm. A rear diff lock helps plant it firmly on tar. For that you get 0 - 100km/h in 4.2 seconds and a limited 320km/h for your top end.

Vorsteiner Porsche 997 V-GT Coupe

Posted by admin

Vorsteiner’s work is to be found in brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. The specialists in carbon fiber fittings are proud of their contribution in shedding off some useless kilos from a standard production car to make something light and agile. Presenting now a Porsche 997 V-GT Coupe, Vorsteiner has made some modifications to the 997 911 icon by placing a full carbon fiber front bumper. This unit has an integrated carbon fiber inlet with an upper radiator vent grille. The front carbon fiber chin spoiler is an attachment that is replaceable. At the rear is a vented bumper with integrated carbon fiber diffuser, complete with aero fins.

The name Vorsteiner is all over the door sills as a logo marking, leaving no doubts as to who worked on this car. For running shoes the Vorsteiner Porsche 997 V-GT Coupe has a specially-designed forged aluminium 3-piece five spoke wheels in 19-inch reverse lip, 20-inch reverse lip and 22-inch reverse lip, with widths that range from 8” – 13”.

570HP Kicherer CL 60 Coupe Unveiled

Posted by admin

Some might call Lake Constance-based Kicherer’s obsession with making Mercedes-Benz products go faster an unhealthy one. Of course, those people clearly fail to appreciate the pleasure that 900Nm of torque at one’s command can bring. Kicherer’s latest is the CL 60 Coupe, based on the Mercedes CL600 luxury coupe.

The twin-turbo V12 CL600 sits pretty at the top of the Mercedes two-door lineup, and Kicherer’s wizards have left the basic package alone. Under the skin, however, things are a bit more exciting. The V12’s power has been boosted from 517 to 570, with a corresponding increase in torque to 900Nm. A modified transmission control module and locking rear differential ensure that the additional power gets to the road in a relatively dignified fashion, and the chassis has been lowered by 25mm. The CL 60 Coupe also features unique 20-inch Kicherer RS-1 wheels. A body kit and carbon trim set the CL 60 apart from stock CL600s nicely.

More information can be found at Kicherer’s website, at www.kicherer.net.

BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe Achieves 50mpg

Posted by admin

For the purpose of reducing emissions and energy consumption, the UK has turned into a somewhat hostile social environment as the government imposes increasingly stringent taxation upon motorist, particularly those with vehicles in the luxury segment.

In response, famous BMW supported tuner, Alpina, has taken the 2.0-liter twin turbo diesel from BMW’s 123d model, tweaked it to produce 10 more horsepower and stuck it in their E92 3-Series Coupe.

As a result, the increased hp and lighter engine means an overall power-to-weight ratio of 146hp per tonne – virtually matching BMW’s own 330d Coupe. The car is capable of 152mph and 0-62mph in 6.9 secs and yet the official fuel consumption and emission figures tell a very different story: 52.3mpg (overall EU) and 143g/km! (manual trans).

This year only 100 units of the ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe will be available in the UK.

2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupé

Posted by admin

Porsche today disclosed photos and details for the next generation 911 model series. Four new 911 models go on sale in September in North America – the 911 Carrera Coupe, 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S Coupe, and 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. All offer a higher level of performance thanks to their all-new flat-six engines displacing 3.6 and 3.8 liters respectively. And for the first time in a Porsche sports car, engines utilize direct fuel injection (DFI) and can be coupled with the new optional 7-speed double-clutch gearbox Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK), racing inspired technology and a Porsche first. The result of these new technologies allows Porsche to once again boost performance of the 911, yet improve fuel efficiency by up to 13 percent as measured in the European driving cycle.

Maximum output of the 911 Carrera with its 3.6-liter engine is up by 20 horsepower to 345. The 911 Carrera S with its 3.8-liter engine is equally impressive, up by 30 horsepower to 385. With this extra power, the Carrera S now offers a top speed of 188 mph.
