BRABUS E V12 Coupe with 800PS Pounds into Geneva

Posted by admin

BRABUS, the German tuner proud to also be classified as an automaker in its own right, has unveiled its latest creation – the BRABUS E V12 Coupe.

Based on the latest Mercedes E-Class coupe, BRABUS calls this its Gran Turismo. It comes with a BRABUS SV12 R biturbo engine which churns out a healthy 800 PS (788 bhp/588 kW) and a peak torque figure of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft). Suffice to say, 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) comes in at under 4 seconds – 3.7 to be exact. The 200 km/h (124 mph) mark is reached in only 9.9 seconds and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 23.9 seconds. The car is electronically limited to a top speed of 350 km/h (218 mph).

BRABUS is definitely deserving of the automaker credential since it adds so much of its own technology to this E-Class Coupe. It takes the standard 5.5 liter V12 and expands it up to a 6.3 liter engine by means of a new crankshaft, larger cylinder bore and bigger pistons. BRABUS also adds a sizable contribution of its own electronic work to the engine.

The BRABUS E V12 Coupe comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission, reinforced by BRABUS, and a high-performance limited slip differential for the rear-wheel drive system. Also added are a new air intake system and a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts.

To help manage the extra wind from the excessive amount of power is a carbon fiber body kit that helps reduce lift on the front end with a sport fender with integrated air vents and other cooling air inlet and outlets as well as other aerodynamic paneling. Integrated LED daytime running lights are also part of the package. A coil-over suspension with adjustable ride height boosts agility. High-performance brakes and 19-inch rims also match the demands of the E V12 Coupe’s power rating.

Cost? 478,000 euros.

BRABUS Ultimate R based on the smart fortwo

Posted by admin

BRABUS Ultimate R based on the smart fortwo (10)

Brabus shows what happens when performance tuners tackle underpowered urban cars.  The Brabus Ultimate R is a turbocharged, 112 horsepower version of the Smart ForTwo.

The three-cylinder OEM engine that comes on the car is also tuned to push out up to 150 Nm of torque, which helps the car reach a new 0-100 km/h in a more respectable 9.5 seconds.  Top speed is now limited to 170 km/h (106 mph), but the thought of driving a Smart Car at that speed is frightening, to say the least.  Other performance upgrades include a new sport suspension, which lowers the car by 30 mm, and more rigid shocks.

Making the Smart look more, well, smart, Brabus added carbon fiber elements inside and out, while giving the vehicle a gun metal gray paint job.  Blacked-out double-spoke wheels are wider in back than in the front, and wrapped in high performance tires.  An aluminum-tipped stainless-steel dual-exhaust from Brabus is also included.  Alcantara-lined sport seats are an interesting addition to a car that is supposed to be for the budget conscious.

Currently on display in Frankfurt, the Brabus Ultimate R has an automatic transmission that also allows a degree of input through the paddle shifters mounted to the new racing wheel.  Sitting inside, you will also find a navigation system, radio, and climate control.

Brabus Enhanced Mercedes E-Class Coupe Unleashed with 462hp

Posted by admin

brabus-enhanced-mercedes-e-class-coupe-2

Brabus has unveiled their extensive range of tuning packages for Mercedes’ recently launched E-Class coupe.

With the AMG version in limbo, Brabus has decided to fill the void by introducing a 6.1-liter V8 engine which produces 462 hp (340 kW) and 615 Nm (453 lb-ft) of torque. Based on the E500’s 5.5-liter engine, Brabus engineers enlarge the engine’s displacement by 0.6-liters and add a billet crankshaft, larger pistons, and special four-valve cylinder heads with custom camshafts. The net result of this €29,000 ($39,723 USD) upgrade is a 0-100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (196 mph).

If that sounds a little steep, the company also offers performance packages for Mercedes’ other engines. The E250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY can be outfitted with the €1,390 ($1,900 USD) D4 tuning kit which will boost its output from 204 hp (150 kW) to 235 hp (173 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Likewise, the E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY can be equipped with a D6 tuning kit which allows it to produce 272 hp (200 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque.

Other performance goodies include lowering springs, a height-adjustable coil-over sport suspension, and a high-performance braking system with six-piston aluminum calipers up front and four-piston aluminum calipers out back.

As always, Brabus offers a complete lineup of styling accessories including stainless-steel quad exhaust systems, a new front spoiler with LED daytime running lights, aggressive side skirts, and aluminum front quarter panels with integrated clear-coated carbon-fiber inserts. A variety of wheel packages are also available, they range in sizes from 17 to 20 inches and can be outfitted with either Pirelli or YOKOHAMA rubber.

The styling makeover carries over to the interior thanks to optional stainless-steel scuff plates, a BRABUS sport steering wheel, and exclusive Mastik leather and Alcantara upholstery.

BRABUS W212 E-Class Tuning Program Revealed

Posted by admin

brabus-e-class-w212

Brabus is not taking any chances as it aims to stay ahead of its tuning rivals. It was this year that Mercedes-Benz released the W212 series E-Class range but Brabus has already unveiled a tuning program for it.

The specific E-Class model toping the new programme is the E 500 which has had its 5.5-litre V8 increased to 6.1-litres (372 cu. in.). Along with the increased displacement is a special crankshaft and larger pistons. Additionally the cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow, and fitted with special camshafts. High-efficiency metal catalysts are also part of the engine conversion.

Extracted performance adds up to 462hp (340kW) of peak power and 615Nm (453 lb-ft) of maximum torque. It is fitted with a limited slip differential that helps to access all this power. As a result, 0 – 100km/h takes 4.7 seconds and the top speed is 305km/h (191mph).

The new Brabus E-Class will be available with light alloy wheels ranging from 17- to 20-inches. For the 20-inch option the Pirelli or Yokohama tyre sizes are 245/30 ZR 20 up front and 285/25 ZR 20 at the rear. Brabus has developed a suspension kit that allows for a range of settings, including sporty and very comfortable.

The exterior is differentiated by features such as LED daytime running lights, chrome-plated tailpipes, aluminium front sport fender panels and a custom Brabus front apron. Luxury items found in the interior include a multimedia system with an integrated 7-inch LCD display and a DVD player. Full Brabus leather and Alcantara make the interior a sporty yet comfortable space.

Coming soon are Brabus-tuned CDI BlueEFFIENCY turbo diesel and E 350 BlueTEC models.

Brabus Presents Widestar Package for Updated Mercedes M-Class Facelift

Posted by admin

mercedes-m-class-baed-brabus-widestar_4

BRABUS is one of the most visible names in the world of tuning. The German company works very well with the Mercedes-Benz brand and this time they have concentrated on the updated M-Class SUV range. Starting at the top BRABUS reworked the new facelifted ML 63 AMG which they now call the BRABUS B63S.

Power has been upped to 550hp (404.8kW) to suit the modified sporty suspension. It takes just 4.9 seconds for the B63S to reach 100km/h from standstill. The B63S wears massive 23-inch forged wheels wrapped in tyres that measure size 315/25 R 23. AIRMATIC suspension lowers the ride height by up to 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) for better on-road handling.

Work has been done on the body too using the BRABUS WIDESTAR body kit. Changes include door trim components, new rear and front aprons, a different front spoiler bumper, a rear apron with integrated diffuser and chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system.

The BRABUS upgrade isn’t only limited to the AMG model. Other ML versions are also in line for power gains. The ML 280 CDI for example gains an extra 52hp (38kW), the ML 320 CDI gets bumped up 272hp (200kW) and 590Nm, and for the ML 420 CDI maximum power goes up to 350hp (257kW) and torque is 700Nm. This ML 420 CDI can thus sprint from 0 – 100km/h in 6 seconds.

Petrolheads have not been forgotten. The power kit increases the ML 350’s power output to 287hp (211kW) while the ML 500 gets a displacement upgrade to 6.1-litres which takes it to 462hp (340kW).

Interior wasn’t left alone either. Several signs point to a very different ML from the standard model. BRABUS logos, exclusive BRABUS full leather interior, carbon fiber components and some of the finest Mastik and Alcantara leathers make the cars stand out even more.

Brabus Tesla Roadster Hits the Essen Stage

Posted by admin

Here comes the tuner of the future. Notwithstanding the plummeting price of oil, consumer tastes have made a paradigm shift towards economical cars mainly because of, well, global economics. And it’s probably a smart idea to try to get in ahead of the game on the emerging trend towards zero emissions cars.

Yes, BRABUS is tuning electric vehicles. But what does that entail? Swapping the standard, no-name brand batteries for Energizers?

No, but they start where electric cars do need the most tuning – the sound. BRABUS have introduced a “space sound generator” which can simulate a variety of engine sounds including that of a good ol’ fashioned combustion engine V8. There’s also a race car sound. Then things get a little too video gamey/Star Trekkie. Like the two “futuristic soundscapes” called Warp and Beam. Simply getting rid of that whiny golf-cart sound of every electric car would have been enough of a start.

There are a collection of optics such as new wheels (18″ in front, 19″ at the rear) and side entrance lights, again with the moniker “futuristic” attached. (You spot a theme here?) A rear wing and diffuser is also added by BRABUS. Interiors are re-done in lightweight leather and Alcantara.

Looks and sounds (hopefully) great. Enough “car of the future” stuff, though. We need electric cars right now. But you can spare us the Star Trek references.

Brabus Pump a Little Extra Out of Mercedes C63 AMG

Posted by admin

The Brabus engineers have got down and dirty with the Mercedes C 63 AMG to produce the B63 S Performance Kit. It adds 73hp to the 6.2-liter V8 AMG power unit bringing total output up to 530hp (390kW) whilst the peak torque grows by 50Nm to 650 Nm (479 lb-ft).

Free-flow high-performance metal catalysts, sport air filters and a bit of ECU tuning take full credit for the power boost which propels the model from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds (from 4.5 seconds), 0-200km/h is is achieved in 13.1 seconds (from 14.5 seconds) and the top speed now lies at 197mph (315km/h).

To compliment to increased power and performance, Brabus also offers a range of accessories that not only make the model look good, but feel good as well. It features a height adjustable suspension kit , a Brabus high performance brake system, high perfomance tires wrapped around custom-tailored 19-inch rims and it is completed with exclusive interior options.
