Aston Martin DBS by Edo Competition

Posted by admin

Edo Competition has unveiled their tuning program for the Aston Martin DBS.

To beef up the sexy beast, Edo installed revised ECU software, a new exhaust system, special catalytic converters, and high flow air filters. Thanks to these changes, the DBS produces 550 PS (542 hp / 405 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque – an increase of 33 PS (32 hp / 25 kW) and 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). This enables the car to rocket from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

Underneath, the company added a high performance brake system, 21-inch wheels, and an adjustable sports suspension (which can vary the ride height, spring compression and rebound damping).

Inside, customers can order carbon fiber trim or exclusive leather upholstery in a color of their choice.

Wheelsandmore Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Posted by admin

Wheelsandmore Aston Martin DB9 Volante (3)

German tuner Wheelsandmore has some ideas of its own for the Aston Martin DB9 convertible.

First up is a performance upgrade for the 6.0 liter V12 engine with 476 hp and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque that comes with the production version. Wheelsandmore boosts that by 60 hp while adding 68 Nm (50 lb-ft) of torque too. They’ve done so by tinkering with the ECU and adding a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with 200-cell sport catalysts and noise-volume valve control.

Suspension-lowering is part of the package with the DB9 sitting 25 mm lower.

The DB9 also gets a new body kit made of polyurethane along with side skirts, front and rear aprons and a rear lid spoiler. The convertible gets fitted with Kahn RS-V 20-inch wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx performance tires – 255/35/20 for the front 9.0×20 rims and 285/30/20 for the 11.0×20 rear rims.

Prices are €5,999 for the wheel set, €9,000 for the body kit, €8,800 for the exhaust system, €3,400 for the ECU upgrade and €1,150 for the lowering springs.

Hamann Rolls Royce Phantom Images Surface

Posted by admin

hamann-rolls-royce-phantom-images-surface-3

Hamann does not discriminate. That is to say, the German tuner will work on any brand deemed suitable to its vision. Recent various tuning packages include the BMW X6 and 7-Series, McLaren SLR, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and most recently one for the Bentley GT Speed.

Rolls Royce is not immune to these visions of Hamann and that is why the two cars seen here came into existence. Both the Phantom and the two-door Drophead got special Hamman treatment. Not much detail was tossed our way but we can disclose that the wheels have gone from the standard 21-inch cast aluminium to 23-inches.

Maximum power has also been increased from a mere 460hp (338kW) to 535hp (394kW). Peak torque received a boost too, from 720Nm to 835Nm. The top speed then improves to 300km/h.

A highlighted interior element is the Hamann sports steering wheel which was made specifically for the Phantom.

Aston Martin One-77 Unveiled at Concorso d’Eleganza

Posted by admin

aston-martin-one-771

After several teasers and a mock introduction at the Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin has officially unveiled their highly anticipated One-77 supercar at the Concorso d’Eleganza in Lake Como, Italy.

Besides being shown for the first time in production trim, the gorgeous supercar was among one of eight entries up for the nomination of being voted the show’s best concept and prototype. As expected, the One-77 ended up winning the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award with more than 30% of the total votes cast.

The unveiling also marks our first glimpse of the new supercar’s handcrafted interior which is loosely based on the DB9’s cabin. A bold center console with premium metal accents dominates the cockpit as does the extensive use of carbon fiber trim. Elsewhere, the dash’s contrasting pattern is echoed in the sports seats as they boast white leather upholstery with unique black mesh inserts.

Beneath the supercar’s sexy hand-rolled aluminum exterior resides a massive 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces over 700 bhp. While official technical and performance data wasn’t released, Aston has previously stated that the One-77 will likely weigh about 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs) and be able run from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 200 mph.

Conceived as an ultra-luxury road-going DTM style racer, the One-77 features a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis and an inboard double wishbone suspension with Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve damping. Other performance equipment on the supercar includes a six-speed robotized sequential manual gearbox, a dry-sump oil system, carbon ceramic brakes, and specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

First Complete Aston Martin one-77 Concept Set for World Debut

Posted by admin

aston-martin-one-77_1

The Aston Martin One-77 that was revealed at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show was not chassis number 1 but was actually a technical illustration of the car. Soon after the show, work began to craft the very first complete example by hand. The Concorso d’Eleganza event that takes place between 24 and 26 April on the shores of Lake Como in Italy is the venue where this fully-built concept car will make its world debut.

Everything will be showcased; from the actual 7.3-litre V12 engine to the interior design with its handmade parts and what Aston calls “exotic materials”. The company says it’s their “money-no-object commitment to quality” that will make the One-77 stand out from the crowd.

CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: “This is a major step in One-77’s engineering programme, showing the first complete car, and will demonstrate new benchmarks in many different fields of automotive design.”

Aston Martin is placing a lot of emphasis on how amazing this car will be, on how it will shift the boundaries between art and automotive design. It is really the culmination of AM’s technological know-how, its craftsmanship and performance prowess.

Very few cars of any type that we can think of have had this much hype from their makers even before they were presented to the public. We hope the Aston Martin One-77 lives to match the ballyhoo.
