ONYX Bentley Continental Platinium GTO Package

Posted by admin

Irish tuners Onyx Concept have released a package of upgrades for the Bentley Continental GT.  The Onyx Bentley Continental Platinum GTO kit could boost power to around 640 bhp (477 kW / 649 PS) from the standard 553 bhp (412 kW / 560 PS).

Changes have been made to the car’s front bumper, which now includes carbon fiber modifications.  They also installed LED daytime runners, as well as a front carbon fiber splitter.  The new arches widen the cars stance, and match the new sidesills.

In back, a new rear bumper with carbon diffuser has been installed.  The carbon decklid spoiler matches the diffuser, but would look nicer if it matched the car’s body colour.

Suspension on the car has been lowered with new 22-inch matte black wheels also included.  This looks to offer little-to-no clearance should the car hit a hard bump.

According to the company, the Onyx Bentley Continental Platinum GTO package should be available in March.

AK-Car Design Envisions SLS AMG

Posted by admin

When former Lorinser tuner Adolf Koch hit retirement age, he knew he still desired to be creative.  That’s why at 65-years-old, and after 47 years with Lorinser, he chose to form his own company.

His newest design is a proposal for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.  As seen in these renderings, the package begins at the front with a new grille with black honeycomb elements.  This is also reflected nicely in the new bumper at the air inlets.  The suggested new sidesills look nicer than stock, and flow better with the look up front.

The new rear bumper incorporates quad tailpies instead of dual pipes, and replaces the rear diffuser.  About the only thing not likable on the car are the wheels.

AK-Car Design offers an entire kit for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and a few parts for several Audi models.  Koch’s firm has also developed renderings for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and SL-Class.

We expect to see more work from Koch in the near future as well as a Geneva debut for the SLS.

WALD Latest Styling Program for Lexus LS460 Facelift

Posted by admin

Japanese tuners Wald are now taking orders for their new kit for the 2010 Lexus LS460 facelift.  The car with the styling mods debuted in January at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010.

Engineers designed a sportier package for the facelifted model than their previous kit.  It includes a blacked-out grille ringed in chrome, an aggressive front bumper, and new sidesills.  A new diffuser surrounds the dual tailpipes, like the previous Wald kit, but this package has a more squared-off bumper.

The company does not plan to stop here.  An e-mail sent to us from the tuner says they are working on a package capable of fitting the LS Hybrid.

Delivery of the Wald Lexus LS460 package will begin in mid-March.  The package is also available through select Lexus Japan dealers.

Lumma CLR X 650 M Based on BMW X6 M to Debut in Geneva

Posted by admin

New pictures of Lumma’s CLR X 650 M have been published by the company’s Russian distributor, TopCar.

Based on the BMW X6 M, the CLR X 650 M features an aggressive body kit with new bumpers, aerodynamic side skirts, extended fender flares, and a rear diffuser. Other styling tweaks include a black grille, a massive rear spoiler, and 23-inch wheels.

While details are limited, power is expected to come from a modified 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 650 hp and 830 Nm of torque (up 95 hp and 150 Nm from the X6 M). This should allow the CLR X 650 M to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, before topping out at 312 km/h (194 mph).

Look for more information to be released when Lumma officially unveils the car at the Geneva Motor Show.

Mansory Releases Tuning Program for Porsche 997 Turbo

Posted by admin

Engineers working with Swiss luxury auto tuners Mansory have completed work on a new upgrade package for the Porsche 997 Carrera Turbo.  Once installed, the kit will cause more than a few heads to turn, with some enjoying the new look, and purists disregarding the new look as somewhat sacreligious.

The car has a new front skirt, and carbon fiber lip and splitter.  Sidesills are not mentioned by the firm, but appear to be congruent with the modified design.  They lead back to a completely redone back end that combines a new exhaust and added air outlets.  A remodeled rear spoiler rests on the decklid, and is made from carbon fiber.

Mansory commissioned a handcrafted interior with upgrades to the stock materials used by Porsche.  Like the carbon fiber exterior, the leather interior can be customized.

Upgrades to the engine include a new exhaust manifold along with two silencers.  The car rides on one-piece 20-inch silver rims, measuring 8.5- and 12-inches.  These rims can also be used on the 987 Cayman and Boxster.

Pricing was not announced for the package.
